Obviously, Craigslist is a valid source for potential jobs. Otherwise, I wouldn't list openings from that site. We have even had students earn legitimate positions found on that site. But there are also "sharks" advertising on there, fishing for your information. So you must be careful. Do not disclose your bank account information, social security information, etc to someone who hasn't interviewed you in person (at a legitimate place of business) and offered you the job. Sending your resume to apply through Craigslist isn't all that problematic as most of the information on your resume can probably be obtained online anyway (your name, address, phone number, etc).
This doesn't mean you need to--or even should--stop using Craigslist as a job seeker's tool. It just means you need to be wise and vigilant in its use. Trust your common sense!

- Administrative Assistant
- Starbucks Store Manager
- Credentialing Specialist (attention Billing and Coding)
