"Look at the donut, not the hole." ...age-old advice from one of my former coaches, reminding us to look at what we have, not what we don't

Remember, Babe Ruth may have been one of the great homerun hitters of all time, but he also struck out a lot, too. The job search is just like that, especially in this economy. Keep getting back up there and swinging for the fence!

Stay Positive

Being a job seeker in this economy can be pretty rough at times.  It's easy to get down and depressed, blaming yourself over issues over which you have limited control.  When you're feeling blue and negative, heed the advice in this article "The Four Secrets of Optimism."  That link will offer you the keys to helping yourself stay positive.  Most important in my mind are praising others--it works wonders for me, simply because you start to look for the positive (and people love it)--and using self talk to "beat down" the negative thoughts and feelings.  Pyschologists will tell you that positive self talk is affirming and empowering, and you can harness that power, too!  So stay positive, using the tips from that story!
