"Look at the donut, not the hole." ...age-old advice from one of my former coaches, reminding us to look at what we have, not what we don't

Remember, Babe Ruth may have been one of the great homerun hitters of all time, but he also struck out a lot, too. The job search is just like that, especially in this economy. Keep getting back up there and swinging for the fence!

My Pentultimate Blog and Leads List

As some of you may know, I have taken another job in education and will be leaving CSB after January 4, 2013.  Thus, the duties of maintaining a blog for you CSB grads and job seekers will fall to my very capable replacement, Lindsay Unger.  Interestingly enough, Lindsay is a CSB graduate, who then went on to get her bachelor's degree.  I feel very good about leaving my students--those of you who have graduated--and the current CSB students with Lindsay, for I know you will be in very good hands.

Additionally, if I have served as a reference for you, and you would like to keep me as a reference, please contact me with a private message in Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/tim.csbyorkcampus) or by sending me an email at tbarshinger@csb.edu (before January 4, 2013), and I will share my new contact information.  I am more than willing to remain a reference and to continue supporting you in your career.

Please note that will post a final blog posting tomorrow, simply to create a link to Lindsay's job seekers' blog.

It has been my pleasure to work with all of you during my tenure at CSB.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to meet and work with so many interesting people.  The experience has taught me, enlightened me, challenged me, and fulfilled me.  I thank all of you for sharing a little part of yourselves in the process.

And now...why you have all come here...Wednesday's Leads:
My sincere wishes for career success and a lifetime of happiness to you!

Two Congratulations and Monday's Leads

Before we jump into Monday's Leads, I wanted to take a moment to congratulate two CSB graduates on new jobs.

First, congratulations to Tiffany Poe!  Tiffany found out last week that she is getting hired by her internship site and will be working as a medical office secretary!

Next, congratulations are also extended to Charla Kohler.  Charla is the prime example of perseverance paying off.  She has worked in a number of jobs that weren't her "dream job," but she kept plugging away and just found out last week that she has gotten a full time job as a medical assistant.  None of that would have been possible if Charla hadn't kept trying...or if she had given up on her dream.

Way to go, Ladies!  We're very proud of you!

Monday's Leads:

Have a wonderful Monday afternoon!  Let's kick off a good week!

Tuesday's Leads: Change, Change, Change

“It doesn’t matter where you are, you are nowhere compared to where
you can go.”
          -Bob Proctor

“By changing nothing, nothing changes.”
          -Tony Robbins

These two quotations speak to the need for all of us to change, to evolve, to grow.  It is normal to fear change, but we must also embrace it.

Tuesday's Leads:
Have an awesome Tuesday!  I hope you can get out in this beautiful weather!
