"Look at the donut, not the hole." ...age-old advice from one of my former coaches, reminding us to look at what we have, not what we don't

Remember, Babe Ruth may have been one of the great homerun hitters of all time, but he also struck out a lot, too. The job search is just like that, especially in this economy. Keep getting back up there and swinging for the fence!

Back from a "Long Winter's Nap"

Here we are again...after I enjoyed a few days of vacation around the holidays.

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas, and, as we look ahead to the new year, there is much for which we can all be thankful.  Many of you earned degrees in 2011, and even if the job search is tough right now, there are surely better times ahead!  Additionally, having a degree is a huge step in that it opens up doors for job possibilities that you never had before, so even if you've struggled in the job search, there is still hope.  We certainly have examples of individuals who worked their tails off for five or six months before landing the job of their choosing...so it does happen.  And it can--and WILL--be you!  But you need to keep working hard to make it happen!  Remember that it cannot happen if you don't let it, and giving up is the one sure-fire way to not let it happen!

With that as our theme, here are some leads I have drawn from the last few days.
