"Look at the donut, not the hole." ...age-old advice from one of my former coaches, reminding us to look at what we have, not what we don't

Remember, Babe Ruth may have been one of the great homerun hitters of all time, but he also struck out a lot, too. The job search is just like that, especially in this economy. Keep getting back up there and swinging for the fence!

Include Company Websites in Your Job Search

I know I've suggested this before, but I think it's worth repeating, maybe making into a refrain if needed:  Be sure that you, as part of your job search, are also looking on specific company websitesIt's very easy to become "locked in" on job seeker search engines (e.g. CareerBuilder, Monster.com) and then forget to look at company websites, which can be problematic if a company is trying to save money and only advertise on their website.

A quick review of some local companies reveals job openings at Dentsply (administrative assistant), York College (PT IT Assistant and also an Administrative Assistant), York County website (legal clerk), and Comcast (a wide array of openings).

I know that our medical students are looking at the websites for Wellspan.org and Memorial Hospital and OSS, but the same should hold true for everyone seeking a job!
