"Look at the donut, not the hole." ...age-old advice from one of my former coaches, reminding us to look at what we have, not what we don't

Remember, Babe Ruth may have been one of the great homerun hitters of all time, but he also struck out a lot, too. The job search is just like that, especially in this economy. Keep getting back up there and swinging for the fence!

Endure and Overcome: Friday's Leads

I've been doing some reading about adversity and overcoming challenges recently, and these three quotations echo much of what I've read.  They all offer the idea that we are often too pessimistic and don't see opportunities when they present themselves.  Likewise, they all encompass the idea that there is much to be learned from challenges; we just have to find the lesson in the obstacle.

"Trouble is only opportunity in work clothes."

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

"Nothing befalls a man except what is in his nature to endure."
